Tuesday, September 26

Let us remember that we are in the holy presence of God.
+ In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Lord, may nothing separate me from You today. Teach me how to choose only Your way today so each step will lead me closer to You. Help me walk by the Word and not my feelings. Help me to keep my heart pure and undivided. Protect me from my own careless thoughts, words, and actions. And keep me from being distracted by MY wants, MY desires, MY thoughts on how things should be. Help me to embrace what comes my way as an opportunity... rather than a personal inconvenience. Lord, help me to forever remember what a gift it is to sit with You.

Morning Motivation

Start every morning on a positive note at 7:45am in D104 South with Mr. Tessmer and Ms. Carter, moderators of Morning Motivation. This is an informal group that meets each morning with the goal of being organized and ready to learn. Students use a planner to stay organized and on track. They can get help with school work, organization and study strategies, review and set goals, review yesterday’s task list, start making today’s list, and prioritize everything to make sure they are able to do what they need to do with time left over for what they want to do. We keep every morning positive and productive in an atmosphere that allows students to focus their energy on their personal priorities. We hope to see you there!

Make your voice heard with Minneapolis Youth Congress (MYC)

Minneapolis Youth Congress (MYC) is recruiting youth who are interested in making their voices heard on topics that mean the most to them in the City of Minneapolis currently and for years to come. Our motto is: No decision made about us, without us; which is a testament to our cohorts ability to influence decisions, impact ideas and partner with the decision makers in creating policies in the City of Minneapolis!

MYC has been impactful through youth-led projects targeting flavored tobacco being sold in Minneapolis, awareness of what is in our water, as well as transportation in collaboration with Minneapolis Public Schools and Metro Transit.

If you are interested in this opportunity come to the counseling office on Thursday, September 28th, during your lunch period (you may bring your lunch) to meet with representatives from MYC and see if this is a fit for you.
