Lasallian Mentors

One of the many benefits of residing on Nicollet Island since 1897 is that DeLaSalle has a vast, well-connected network of alumni and friends in the Twin Cities and beyond. DeLaSalle offers an excellent curriculum that prepares students to be leaders in the real world, and some benefactors have made the commitment to open doors for these students so that they can have a preview of what it’s like to reach the top of a field.

The Lasallian Mentors program is a unique opportunity to combine philanthropy and instruction, providing students with the financial backing to join the DeLaSalle community and with enrichment experiences. For a $5,000 gift, the donor will be paired with an accomplished and motivated student with need whom they can track and get to know over the student’s four years at DeLaSalle. The donor and student will have the chance to meet over lunch on the Island, and the donor will receive regular updates on the student’s progress. This program is designed to personalize the philanthropic experience at DeLaSalle as well as provide students with role models who can help turn their academic and vocational aspirations into realities.

Students for the program are chosen by the DeLaSalle Advancement Office, which ensures that the participants meet established criteria. Donors are allowed and encouraged to multiply their impact by sponsoring several students at once.
