School Bus

The DeLaSalle Transportation Office, in partnership with the Business Office and 4Mativ Transportation, coordinates all student transportation services and is available to assist with any questions or concerns regarding school bus transportation.

All school bus routes begin service on the first day of school. Morning routes are scheduled to arrive at DeLaSalle prior to the start of the academic day, which begins at 8:15 a.m. Students are dropped off at the main entrance located at 1 DeLaSalle Drive.

The academic day concludes at 2:50 p.m. Students who utilize after-school tutoring can remain on campus until 3:20 p.m. Afternoon bus routes depart campus at approximately 3:20 p.m. to accommodate both the regular dismissal schedule and students participating in after-school tutoring. Bus loading for afternoon departures takes place primarily at 1 DeLaSalle Drive and along East Island Avenue.

If your family moves after the school year has begun, we will make every effort to accommodate your new address. However, transportation to a new residence cannot be guaranteed and will depend on the location's proximity to existing bus routes and designated stops.

Please note that transportation fees are non-refundable.

Driving

Students who choose to drive to school must purchase a valid DeLaSalle parking permit. Parking permits are available on a first-come, first-served basis and remain available until all spaces have been assigned.

For the 2026–27 school year, parking permit options include:

• Main Lot: $375 per school year
• Bridge Lot: $350 per school year

Students are assigned to a designated parking space through the DeLaSalle Transportation Office and may only park in the lot assigned to their permit.

DeLaSalle partners with the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) to provide additional student parking in the Nicollet Island Bridge Lot. Students assigned to the Bridge Lot may park only in the designated DeLaSalle parking area during school hours.

Students are expected to park only in their assigned parking area and display a valid DeLaSalle parking permit at all times while on campus. Parking permits are issued to individual students, are non-transferable, and may not be shared or used by another student without prior approval from the Transportation Office.

Parking permit registration, annual registration dates, and permit distribution information will be communicated to students and families each summer by the Transportation Office.

Public Transportation

DeLaSalle's central location in downtown Minneapolis provides students with convenient access to one of the region's most extensive public transportation networks. Students can easily access Metro Transit buses and light rail, as well as several suburban transit providers offering express service to and from downtown Minneapolis.

Multiple Metro Transit bus routes serve the area surrounding DeLaSalle, and the school is within walking distance of both the METRO Blue Line and METRO Green Line, providing convenient connections throughout Minneapolis, St. Paul, Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport, and the greater Twin Cities. Students traveling from suburban communities may also utilize regional transit providers that connect directly to downtown Minneapolis.

Carpooling

Carpooling is a great way for students and families to reduce transportation costs while helping ease traffic congestion around campus. In addition to saving time and money, carpooling supports a safer and more efficient arrival and dismissal process for the entire DeLaSalle community.

Benefits of Carpooling

• Reduce transportation costs by sharing travel expenses.
• Decrease traffic congestion during morning arrival and afternoon dismissal.
• Help reduce vehicle emissions and support a cleaner environment.
• Build connections with other DeLaSalle families in your community.

Students interested in participating in a carpool may indicate their interest during the annual parking registration process. While DeLaSalle is happy to help connect interested families, participation in a carpool is voluntary, and families are responsible for coordinating schedules, transportation arrangements, and communication with one another.

Please note that DeLaSalle is not responsible for organizing, supervising, or assuming liability for private carpool arrangements between families.

Bicycle

Students are welcome to ride their bicycles to and from school. DeLaSalle provides a secure bicycle rack located near the main entrance at 1 DeLaSalle Drive for student use during the school day.

For the safety of all riders, students are strongly encouraged to:

• Wear a properly fitted bicycle helmet.
• Equip their bicycle with front and rear lights when riding in low-light conditions.
• Ensure their bicycle is in good working condition, including properly inflated tires and functioning brakes.
• Secure their bicycle with a personal lock while it is parked on campus.

Students are responsible for securing their bicycles while on campus. While DeLaSalle provides bicycle parking as a convenience, the school is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged bicycles or personal property left with a bicycle.

Our Transportation Office will work with 4Mativ Transportation to review your request and develop the best transportation solution for your family. Please allow up to 10 business days for new requests, route changes, or stop modifications to be processed. Submitting requests as early as possible helps us provide the most efficient service.
