Why DeLaSalle
Greetings from Nicollet Island!
We are honored by your interest in exploring what makes DeLaSalle one of a kind.
Located in the heart of the Twin Cities’ urban core, DeLaSalle offers an educational experience unlike any other in Minnesota. Our campus on Nicollet Island places students at the intersection of culture, commerce, service, and faith — providing daily access to businesses, nonprofits, cultural institutions, and community partners that extend learning far beyond the classroom walls.
Drawing students from more than 135 grade schools across the metro area, DeLaSalle is home to one of the most authentically diverse student bodies in the state. Students of every race, ethnicity, faith tradition, and socioeconomic background learn together here — united by shared values, high expectations, and a Catholic, Lasallian mission that calls each young person to discover their God-given potential and use it in service to others.
Our commitment to global education further distinguishes DeLaSalle. Through immersive coursework, cultural exchange, and international learning opportunities, students are prepared not only to succeed in college, but to lead with empathy, perspective, and confidence in an increasingly interconnected world.
Rooted in faith. Grounded in the city. Focused on the future. There is truly no place like DeLaSalle.
We would love the opportunity to welcome you to campus — because DeLaSalle is best experienced in person. Come and see for yourself.
Saint John Baptist de La Salle, pray for us.
Live Jesus in our hearts, forever.
Go Islanders!

Before & After DeLaSalle
Centrally located on historic Nicollet Island, DeLaSalle is the closest high school to downtown Minneapolis, the University of Minnesota, Old St. Anthony, and other Twin Cities landmarks.
More than 14,000 students have graduated from DeLaSalle over our 124-year history. Students come from neighborhoods all over Minneapolis and St. Paul and from communities as far away as 30 miles in each direction.
Consistently, between 97 percent and 100 percent of DeLaSalle’s graduates have matriculated to college – within the past decade to colleges and universities in over 40 states and seven countries.
