Standardized Testing
Standardized testing is one component of DeLaSalle's college readiness program. Throughout high school, students participate in a sequence of assessments designed to build familiarity with college entrance exams, measure academic growth, and help inform future college planning.
By the time students take their first official college admission exam – typically during junior year – they will have completed at least two practice versions of both the ACT and SAT (including the PreACT 8/9 administered as part of the prospective student admissions process). These experiences help students and families make informed decisions about which exam best aligns with their strengths, knowing that colleges, universities, and scholarship organizations accept either the ACT or SAT without preference.
Requesting Extended Time Accommodations
Eligible students may request extended time accommodations to complete standardized tests.
Students must have a DeLaSalle accommodation plan on file with DeLaSalle and use extended time in at least one class to be eligible for extended time accommodations.
Students should work with the Learning Specialist office to request accommodations and begin the process well in advance of a particular standardized test.
