Our Faith

Our Faith Tradition
Rooted in the Catholic and Lasallian tradition, DeLaSalle High School nurtures students’ academic and spiritual growth, inspired by the legacy of Saint John Baptist de La Salle. Since 1900, the Christian Brothers have served as teachers, mentors, and stewards of our mission to provide a values-based education, especially to those in need. Today, they are joined by a vibrant community of educators who share a deep commitment to faith, service, and justice. Together, we continue building a more compassionate world through education.
Faith in Action
At DeLaSalle, faith comes alive through service. We believe students grow academically, emotionally, and spiritually when they give back to others. Service is a core part of our mission and woven into the student experience—whether through school-wide service days, class projects, or volunteer opportunities with our community partners across the Twin Cities. In the spirit of our Lasallian values, students are called to lead with compassion, act with justice, and make a lasting impact in the world around them.

Sacramental Life
At DeLaSalle, students are invited to grow in their faith through meaningful sacramental experiences rooted in our Catholic tradition. We offer optional weekly Mass, monthly all-school Masses, Stations of the Cross during Lent, and opportunities for the Sacrament of Reconciliation throughout the year. Students seeking to receive or complete sacraments are supported with guidance and preparation. Campus masses and prayer services are proudly student-driven through the Campus Ministry Leadership Team, giving young people a central role in planning liturgies and shaping our vibrant spiritual life.
Lasallian Affiliation
DeLaSalle High School embraces its Lasallian heritage and is proudly affiliated with the Brothers of the Christian Schools – known informally as the Christian Brothers. From the very first school day in 1900, Christian Brothers have guided DeLaSalle students in their academic studies and the development of their relationship with Jesus Christ.
This Lasallian work has considerably increased throughout the world. Today, we are 80,000 educators and more than 5,000 Brothers, and together we animate the Lasallian mission which reaches more than one million children, young people, and adults in 77 countries.
Archdiocesan Affiliation
DeLaSalle, which was separately incorporated in 1971, functions as one of 14 Catholic high schools within the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis. DeLaSalle collaborates with the Archdiocese on a variety of levels to promote K-12 Catholic Education throughout the Twin Cities.
