Robotics Team Sets New Record

The Islanders Robotics Team proudly poses by their robot, Daedalus, during the First Robotics North Star Regional competition April 6-9. After 6 practice rounds and 10 qualifying matches, Daedalus and its creators took 19th place in the state competition. Science teacher and robotics moderator, Mr. Patrick Banas, was very happy with the competition and the effort from this year’s team. “This ranking is the highest ever earned by a DeLaSalle team. This team worked hard and brought a lot of energy to the build days and the competition. They stayed focused when the robot needed fixing which can be tense because there is a limited time to repair before the next match.” Congratulations, Islanders!  To view a short video of the robot in action, click here.
