DECA Club Prepares for District Competition with Guidance from Community Members

DeLaSalle’s DECA Club members are gearing up for their first competition with valuable input from experienced leaders in our community. Last week Ms.Sam Sabin and associates from CliftonLarsonAllen, LLP, along with Nathan Schroepfer, DeLeSalle football coach and substitute teacher, presented to DECA students about interviewing techniques and items to include on a resume. Earlier this month Keaton Rush ‘10 spoke to DECA members about sales and his role as an account executive. DECA students will apply this wealth of information at their district competition on Sunday, February 4 at Spring Lake Park High School.

DECA is a co-curricular association of students preparing for careers in marketing, merchandising, management, and entrepreneurship. The organization holds district, state, and national competitive-activity conferences for student members to enter and match their skills against students from other schools.

DeLaSalle needs judges for the February 4 competition. If you would like to use your life and work experience to provide social and professional guidance to high school students, please consider volunteering your time. Help our students develop the tools they need to pursue their dreams! Email paul.sczepanski@delasalle.com for more information.
