DECA Performs Well at Districts and Sends 15 Students to State

DeLaSalle's DECA club had an incredible performance at their District competition last week. Fifteen Islanders placed in the top 6 in their category to advance to the DECA State Career Development Conference at the Minneapolis Hyatt on March 2-4. Here is a list of the state qualifiers:

Phoebe Price, Zarek Christianson (Business Law Team) - 2nd Place
Zach Charboneau, Nathan Merrell (Financial Team Decision Making) - 6th Place
Charlotte Whiteside (Hotel and Lodging Management) - 6th Place

Prepared Events

Claire Schendel, Helen Sautter, Julia Jackson (Innovation Plan) - 6th Place
Jibreel Khalid (Integrated Marketing Campaign - Service) - 4th Place
Rayna Stecklein, Libby Krocak, Clara Stevens (Start Up Business) - 4th Place

 

Role Play students are given a Case Study/Scenario to apply their business/entrepreneurship/marketing skills toward a 10- or 15-minute presentation before a judge. Prepared Events students prepare a 10- or 20-page paper and present their creative idea/concept before a judge.
