PHILOSOPHY
We are proud that so many young men and women succeed while at DeLaSalle (and
for years after). Your family can be assured that, once we admit a student
to DeLaSalle, we exhaust all available resources to maximize opportunities
for success. DeLaSalle does not discriminate on the basis of race, gender
or religion.
Realistically, however, no high school can provide what every student needs.
In light of this, DeLaSalle reserves the right to decline admission to students
whose educational, behavioral, or attitudinal needs prevent them from learning
what DeLaSalle seeks from its students.
We do not offer programs for students of low academic ability. Additionally,
students with a history of behavioral difficulties will not be served well
by this institution, and parents of these students should seek a more specialized
school. In recent years, approximately 75% of ninth grade, and 55% of transfer
applicants have been offered admission.
CATHOLIC EDUCATION
We believe that you deserve a sound Christian environment where all students
are urged to develop values of faith, discipline and service. A Lasallian
school exists within the larger tradition of the Catholic Church. DeLaSalle
is, therefore, a religious high school, and spiritual development is regarded
as a primary educational goal.
All students, Catholic and non-Catholic, are required to take four years
of Religious Studies courses, perform a minimum number of Christian Service
hours and attend school liturgies.
HOW TO APPLY

All prospective students are required to submit an application, to include
current transcripts and at least one letter of recommendation from a current
teacher or counselor.
Ninth grade applicants must also meet minimal standards on a nationally recognized high school entrance exam. The entrance exam is used as a tool for admission, for appropriate ninth grade course placement, and to a lesser extent, for academic scholarship determination. Dates for this exam are set by the Office of Admission. The first exam date will occur no earlier than January 15th of the eighth grade year.
The first application deadline for ninth grade admission ("early applicants") is the second Friday in February. The Admission Review Committee will render decisions on all early applicants within one week’s time and begin registering students for ninth grade shortly thereafter. Families may still apply for ninth grade admission after this date, but they are not guaranteed registration placement.
Transfer applicants may apply at any time, and they must also schedule a personal interview with Sarah Graham or another member of the Admissions Review Committee.
All transfer and ninth grade applicants who fail to meet minimum requirements are reviewed by DeLaSalle’s Admission Review Committee, which consists of the principal, assistant principal, counselors and admissions representatives. Students subject to review may be denied admission, offered unconditional admission, or offered admission on specific conditions determined by the committee.
