Senior Class Retreat

Seniors, you will gather for your class retreat today. The retreat wil help prepare you for graduation and provide a great way to bring closure to your high school years. A few retreat reminders:

  • You should be dressed in your school uniform
  • You should report to your 1st hour class to check in for attendance, then proceed to board buses to the retreat site
  • You should bring a bag lunch. One beverage will be provided. Microwaves will not be available
  • If you miss the retreat on Wednesday, you must make up the retreat with the help of Campus Ministry

Junior College Planning Day

Junior College Planning Day is today. The entire junior class will participate in a day of college preparatory information, rotating through 7 informational sessions. Many presenters are local college admission representatives who will be talking generally about topics such as college applications, study abroad, visiting colleges, selective colleges, and much more.

Prom Survey

Juniors and seniors - you can vote for Prom King & Queen and let us know what kind of music you'd like to hear at Prom. Check your email for a link to a short survey. You may vote online through the end of the day today.

Prom 2014

All Juniors and Seniors who plan to attend the Prom this Saturday are reminded that you must purchase your ticket(s) by the end of the day today - Wednesday, April 23 at 4:00pm in the Main Office. This is the final date and time for purchasing tickets. NO EXCEPTIONS will be made as we must have a final attendance count tomorrow

School Library Month Trivia Contest

We are celebrating School Library Media Month with a trivia contest. Enter the LTC to win treats. Today's question: Are there more McDonald's or public libraries in the US? Bonus question how many?

Mentor Meetings

You will meet with your academic mentor after 1st hour tomorrow. This will be the last official mentor meeting of the year.

Visual Arts Festival Awards

Congratulations to Alana Feldhahn ‘14, Lillie Walstrom ‘17, and Will Wharton ‘14 for earning top awards in the annual state high school league Visual Arts Festival. Lillie earned a Superior Award, Juniors Choice for her work “Volume 2, Issue 1”. Will earned a Superior Award for “Chained” and an Excellent Award for “Destructive Reflection.” Alana earned Excellent Awards for “Bedroom in Mpls” and “Twister”.

Lillie McAdams '15, Olivia Osterbauer '14, Marie Phelan '15 also represented DeLaSalle and received recognition for their participation.

In addition to Lillie Walstrom’s accomplishments, her sculpture will be included in the MSHSL State Art Show at the Perpich Center for Arts Education in a couple of weeks.

Christian Service

Are you doing any service? Do you have summer plans? Do you need Ideas? You should stop in and see Mr. CJ Hallman in the Campus ministry office. Your service might get you a day at the WE Day celebration/concert in the fall.

Exploring College Options

If you are interested in applying to a highly selective college or university, or simply in finding out more about highly selective schools and how the admissions process at this type of school works we encourage you to attend: Exploring College Options. Click here to register. The event is Thursday, May 15 at 7:30pm at The Depot Renaissance Minneapolis. 

Exploring College Options is a special recruitment program in which representatives from Duke University, Georgetown University, Harvard University, the University of Pennsylvania, and Stanford University will conduct brief slide presentations about their institution and answer your questions about the sometimes-mystifying world of college admissions. You will learn what distinguishes one fine university from another, what competitive colleges look for in the selection process, and what you can do to enhance your college application. a great deal of the information from this presentation can be applied to other highly selective colleges that may not be represented.

First Step Summer Institute

If you are a sophomore or junior woman of color with a GPA of 2.75 or higher, you are eligible to apply for a summer program on the campus of St. Catherine University. First Step students meet other young women while learning about the skills needed to have access to and thrive in college. You will learn about financial aid, scholarships and grants. You will have assistance preparing your college applications. You will also learn skills needed to navigate the transition from high school to college including time management, financial literacy, and stress management. First Step is COMPLETELY FREE to students and families.
