How We Plan Your Reunion - A Team Approach

Class reunions are an exciting time to join together, reminisce on high school experiences and find out what has happened in your classmates' lives since the last reunion or even graduation! Returning to DeLaSalle for your Class Reunion gives you the opportunity to renew past friendships while becoming reacquainted with the DeLaSalle campus. The DLS Alumni Association recommends that each graduating class celebrate a high school reunion every five years.

The DeLaSalle Alumni Association has adopted a new spirit and attitude regarding the development of reunions. The Alumni Association wishes to see each class approach reunion planning with a committee of classmates who plan in collaboration with the DLS Alumni Relations Office. This team effort will increase communication between classmates, assure events are organized, and result in the best of celebrations.

We know that you lead a busy life and planning a major event like a reunion can be both exciting and overwhelming. With that being said, your class reunion committee and DeLaSalle alumni staff can work together as a team to pull off a successful reunion.

 

DeLaSalle Reunion Staff Responsibilities

  • Class List - DeLaSalle will provide a list of mailing addresses, e-mail addresses, and phone numbers

  • Save-the-Date and Invitation Printing & Mailing - The cost will be covered through the school if the reunion committee chooses a standard invitation template.

  • Communication promoting reunions via:

    • DeLaSalle Reunions webpage
    • Email invites and reminders
    • Highlights (Alumni Newsletter announcements)
    • Registration and Reunion Payments
    • Name tags

  • Print Memory Book (50th Reunion only)
    Memory Books will be printed in black and white with a color cover. If classes wish to have books printed in color, bound, or designed with other variations, additional costs apply.

 

 
 

Class Reunion Committee Responsibilities

  • Class List Clean Up - The Alumni Office will provide Class Lists, including, active, deceased and lost classmates, defined as a classmate that the Alumni Office does not have up-to-date information on, or has received return mail from.

    • Committee is responsible for updating information on these lists and getting back to the Alumni Office prior to any reunion mailings. We suggest dividing the list up and assigning a committee member the responsibility for a group of classmates.

  • Date & Location (A list of preferred venues will be provided to the committee)

  • Calling Communication - After Save-the-Date and the official invitation mailing, committee members are encouraged to have an evening where they get together and call their classmates. This time is used to get rough numbers of classmates that plan on attending the reunion event(s)

  • Website & Social Media - If the committee wishes to communicate with classmates via a class website/webpage or Facebook, this is the responsibility of the committee in coordination with the Alumni Office.

  • Food Selection - Committee will be responsible for choosing the menu for the event if the event is located off the DeLaSalle campus.

Reunion Planning Committees

Nearly 100 volunteers help in the planning of DeLaSalle class reunions. Classes have had memorable celebrations over the years thanks to the time and effort of so many volunteers.
