| EPAC members are committed to educating
the community to be responsible stewards of the all God's creation,
to be aware that every little action has an impact on the health
of our Earth. EPACers make and hang posters around school encouraging
everyone to recycle. EPACers painted signs next to all storm drains
on Nicollet Island that remind residents and visitors to not dump
waste down the drain because these drains flow into the Mississippi
River. Acting on its pledge to "make a difference,"
EPAC also participates in the local community's Mississippi River
Corridor Coalition --particularly the spring clean-up day. Twice a week, EPACers collect recycled paper, cans, and bottles from school receptacles. All students are invited to participate in EPAC as often as possible. | |||

create a History project that requires them to gather, analyze,
and present researched information around a designated theme.

| Islanders enjoy participation in Beginner's Band, Concert Band, Chamber Ensemble Orchestra, Concert Choir, and the A Cappella Choir. Musicians and singers also assist at liturgical celebrations and perform at community events. | |||

| 11th and 12th graders who demonstrate leadership qualities and obtain a minimum 3.5 grade point average are invited to apply for membership to the National Honor Society. Once a member, students commit to service within the DLS community and in the greater Twin Cities. | |||
